Tattoo Aftercare
Aftercare Instructions
- After 3–4 hours, remove the bandage gently and wash with warm water and mild soap, then pat dry. Do not rebandage.
- For the first 3–4 days, wash 2–3 times daily with warm soap and water. Apply a thin film of A&D Ointment, Neosporin, or Bacitracin twice a day for the next three days. After three days, use a small amount of uncolored, unscented lotion until your skin returns to its pre-tattoo condition.
- Stay out of sunlight and tanning booths until the tattoo is healed — at least 7–10 days.
- Do not soak your tattoo in a tub, sauna, Jacuzzi, or go swimming while your new tattoo is healing. Showers are fine.
- Do not rub or pick the treated area while it is healing. Loss of color and/or infection could occur.
- After 5 days your tattoo will begin to flake and peel. Do not scratch or pick scabs.
- Extreme sun exposure over the years can and will fade your tattoo. Minimize this by using a strong sunscreen — at least SPF 25 — after your tattoo is fully healed.
- Your tattoo should heal in approximately 2 weeks. Consult a physician if any signs or symptoms develop such as: redness at the site, green/yellow discharge (foul smelling), and/or fever.
- First touch-up is free for 90 days from the date of your appointment. Touch-up must be done by the tattoo artist who originally did your tattoo.
